Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Alix moved to BC in 2018 to join Fix Healthcare. Her treatments incorporate hands-on chiropractic techniques, soft tissue therapy, and various forms of personalized exercise.

As a kinesiologist, yoga instructor, and doctor of chiropractic, she blends her expertise to provide her patients with a tailored approach to healthcare. Alix is trained in diversified, active release, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, and cranial sacral techniques.

Dr. Nicholas Cowan

Nicholas’ ability to provide fast and efficient pain relief comes from his Doctorate of Chiropractic, Masters Degree in sports medicine, and 14 years of hands-on experience as a registered massage therapist. His participation in athletics has given him additional insight into how to care for active individuals while his compassionate and energetic approach allows him to motivate and guide patients to take control of their injuries. It’s important to Nicholas to have you moving and living at your best.

Dr. Day Deans-Buchan

Dr. Day Deans-Buchan graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (2003) and joined the Fix Healthcare team in 2015. Believing that the body’s structure and function work intimately together and so need to be treated together, Day loves that chiropractic is able to provide fast relief of muscular and skeletal problems.

Working with patients to help them attain their goals, Day helps to motivate change and support the process. She believes in educating her patients and empowering them to become proactive and active in their own care.

Dr. Kym Harvey graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1993 after earning a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University. She spent several years working in established chiropractic offices before settling in Victoria in 1998.  Kym practices Diversified Technique as well as low force and soft tissue techniques. During her career, she has developed a special interest in caring for pregnant women, infants, and children. Kym has the experience and gentle confidence to put anyone new to chiropractic at ease. 

Dr. Simon Pearson

Dr. Simon Pearson, D.C. grew up in Victoria and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Victoria. He then studied Chiropractic at Western States’ Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. After working in a chiropractic clinic in Oregon, he decided to move back home to Victoria and open James Bay Chiropractic in the summer of 2002. Since 2011, he has been offering his expertise as owner and practitioner at Fix Healthcare in downtown Victoria.

Simon treats all his patients with dedication and respect, while his easy-going demeanor allows clients to feel confident in his chiropractic assessments and relax under his care.

Dr. Skinner graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose California and worked in a multidisciplinary, sports-focused clinic in Portland, Oregon, before joining Fix. Prior to his chiropractic career, Dan trained and raced bicycles as a Cat 1 cyclist, giving him a unique insight into the physical demands of a full-time athlete, and a real appreciation for a great manual therapist. His experience with sports medicine and functional rehabilitation gives his patients confidence, knowing they are in the right hands. 

Dan has also acquired additional training and certification in Active Release Technique (A.R.T), Functional movement assessments, Graston Technique, Kinesiology Taping, and corrective exercise prescription.

    Yes! We directly bill most major insurance providers. Ask us if we can bill directly for you!

  • Is chiropractic covered by ICBC?

    Yes! Your chiropractor will help assess your injuries and limitations and work with you to alleviate your immediate discomfort. They’ll create a treatment plan for your recovery, blending hands-on treatment, movement modifications, exercise recommendations, and suggestions for other avenues of care.
