  • Your child must consent to receiving care.
  • Appointments should be therapeutic in nature (have a reason for treatment).

Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy for children focuses on helping them move comfortably, build strength and develop essential motor skills as they grow. Treatment is tailored to each child and may support recovery from injury, improve coordination and balance or address pains that interfere with daily activities. By supporting healthy movement early on, physiotherapy helps set the foundation for lifelong physical well-being.

Physiotherapist

Elani Bykowski

Physiotherapist

  • Treats children ages 10 and up
  • Loves working with kids and optimizing movement for different stages of growth
  • Experience coaching youth sports including track and field, swimming, and golf
  • Special interest in return-to-sport rehabilitation

Elani started her physiotherapy career in Edmonton after graduating from the University of Alberta in 2023. Elani’s academic journey began in her hometown at the University of Lethbridge where she completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Neuroscience. Her published research focussed on identifying prognostic biomarkers following traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury present in the urine and blood to assist in informing rehabilitation strategies for these patient populations.

Elani’s passion for physiotherapy stems from her lifelong love of sports and physical activity. She believes that physiotherapy treatment should be personalized to further your individual goals, manual therapy techniques facilitate greater participation in exercise, and that patients should leave their appointment with a greater understanding of their underlying anatomy.

Elani has pursued post-graduate training in rehabilitation for runners through the Running Clinic as well as for shoulder injuries (taught by renowned researcher Lyn Watson), and is a certified acupuncture practitioner through Acupuncture Canada. Additionally, she has completed further study in orthopaedics through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (level 3 upper and lower body). Outside of the clinic, Elani races as a paratriathlon guide with Triathlon Canada and feels very grateful to call Victoria her new home where she can train year-round.

Lauren has experience working with a variety of patients in both hospital and private clinic settings, but finds her passion in assessment and treatment of orthopedics. In clinic, Lauren’s approach to treatment utilizes hands-on manual therapy, dry needling, various modalities, and most importantly, enabling her patients to maintain and progress their gains using home-based exercise and self-care techniques.

As a youth she played competitive softball in the position of pitcher. Now she approaches sport and recreation as a weekend warrior, with experiences in volleyball, swimming, hiking, surfing, snowshoeing, and of course, more softball.

Hannah Kesler

Hannah Kesler

Physiotherapist

  • Treats children ages 12 and up

Additionally, as a registered pelvic physiotherapist, Hannah can treat the usual musculoskeletal injuries as well as assess and treat urinary and bowel incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, and more. For pelvic appointments, Hannah is currently only accepting patients assigned female at birth as her training thus far has focused on that anatomical perspective.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on and holistic approach to health that considers the body as a whole. In pediatric care, it supports a child’s natural ability to grow, adapt, and function optimally. Treatment is non-invasive, safe, and tailored to each child’s age and needs.

Pediatric osteopathy may help infants with feeding or latching difficulties, reflux, colic, or head positioning preferences. Birth-related stresses—such as a long labour, difficult delivery, or intrauterine positioning—can create subtle imbalances that affect comfort and function. Gentle manual techniques are used to release tension in areas such as the neck, jaw, diaphragm, and digestive system, supporting overall balance and well-being. As children grow, osteopathy can also support postural imbalances, coordination difficulties, growing pains, sleep disturbances, and other tension patterns related to development.

A pediatric osteopathic visit includes a detailed history (pregnancy, birth, development) followed by a gentle assessment and treatment using light, precise techniques that are well tolerated, even by newborns.
