RACHEL MARK R. AC
Rachel is a Registered Acupuncturist under the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists, having completed her training at Pacific Rim College in Victoria. She also holds a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and is a teacher and practitioner of yoga. Rachel’s practice blends the western approach to anatomy, physiology, and injury rehabilitation with the eastern views of holistic health and healing. She enjoys treating a wide range of conditions including pain, injury rehabilitation, stress management, anxiety and depression, digestive disorders, immune support, and gynecological conditions, among many others. She has also worked extensively in cancer care, supporting cancer survivors through treatment-related side effects using acupuncture.
Rachel is passionate about taking an individualized and whole-person approach to care, taking into consideration how factors like nutrition, activity, sleep, and emotions may be contributing to one’s current state of health. She has experienced firsthand as well as seen in others the amazing transformations which can be made through education, empowerment and treatment and truly believes that these powerful forms of medicine can ignite a healing response and bring the body and mind into a brighter and clearer state of being.
Rachel’s practice includes Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities such as acupuncture (including classical acupuncture needling, trigger point and motor point needling), fire cupping, Gua Sha (skin scraping for musculoskeletal conditions), Tui Na (Chinese massage and bodywork), and food therapy. She may also prescribe exercises for injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as yoga therapy.
When not in a clinic, Rachel can be found cuddling her dog, enjoying an amazing cup of coffee, and exploring the incredible nature that Victoria has to offer!
